Our main force for change is democracy in action. Change will only come from us. John Dewey said that "Democracy is born in conversation," yet we're increasingly failing to take the time to talk with one another. This is something we all can do. Let's get involved with the climate change dialogues.

The Climate Dialogues wrapped up in spring of 2009. We're not actively forming new groups, however some existing groups continue to meet and be active. If you'd like to get involved in climate action in your community, you can contact phil [at] 2people.org, or get in touch with CoolMom, 1SkyWashington and/or the Cascade Chapter of the Sierra Club.

The Greater Seattle Climate Dialogues is a campaign of community learning and discussion that begins with small group dialogues (in neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, etc.) and will culminate in a Citizen's Climate Summit, where our informed, collective voice will be heard by local and national political leaders. Climate Action Lab: Oct 11

Our second Climate Action Lab is happening in northeast Seattle on October 11. Like our first lab in Columbia City, Transportation Shift is a hands-on, action-oriented event where we build on existing efforts to create a vibrant, climate-friendly transportation future for our neighborhoods, city and region.
